Entertainments Competition 2008 Well done to everyone involved in the Entertainments Competition. We came 1st place at the
Northern District Final on 11/12th February and we came 1st place at the County Final on 17th February. This years production is called “For England” which is being produced by Ian Blamire. There’s some photograph’s of our performances on the Photo Gallery page. We are now through to the Northern Area Final which is being held at Pontin’s at Blackpool on Sunday 30th March 2008. All members competing in the Entertainments must ensure they have a current membership card. We are
hoping to do a Charity Performance during March. Please look out for details of this in the Cumberland News. For information: Should we do well, the dates for the future rounds are: National Northern Semi-Final Sunday 13th April at The Majestic Theatre, Retford, Nottinghamshire.
National Final Sunday 4th May at Winter Gardens, Blackpool
Competitions Update
Junior Public Speaking The team of George Michelson, Robbie Tattersall and Adam Thomlinson got through to the County Final. Junior Reading Juniors Andrea Dean, Tom Ebbatson and Rachael Evans are through to the Northern Area Final at Pontin’s Blackpool. Intermediate Brainstrust Unfortunately, we were knocked out in the first round. Senior Brainstrust We have 1 team through to County Final – Lisa Bowe, Nicola Wilkinson, Graham Holliday and Stacey Kane. After Dinner Speaking Richard Potts, Nicola Wilkinson, Neil Brough, Mari Shanks and Helen Workman are through to the County Final. Club Promotion The team of Lisa Bowe, Tom Mitchinson, Richard Potts & Lucy Cowen are through to the County Final.
